Que sont les cires lubrifiantes industrielles et les émulsions de cire?

Les cires lubrifiantes ne sont pas des lubrifiants fondamentalement solides. Elles forment une couche lubrifiante sèche au toucher sur la surface de la pièce pour assurer une lubrification fiable tout en réduisant les frottements aux limites et mixtes. Elles sont composées d'hydrocarbures synthétiques polymères, d'additifs et d'huiles (huiles minérales, hydrocarbures synthétiques).

Contrairement à la cire lubrifiante, les émulsions de cire sont à base d'eau et contiennent des émulsifiants. L'évaporation de l'eau laisse un film fermement fixé à la surface.

Il est important de comprendre que la cire se transforme en liquide à une certaine température. Le point de fusion dépend de la composition et du rapport de la cire.
